Published for the first time in 1550, Clénard (1493-1542) composed this grammar with the help of Rescius' advice. This work, which Clénard was unable to perfect, nevertheless achieved the greatest success. Numerous reprints were made of it, and several learned men, including Sylburg, Antesignan, Henri Estienne, R. Guillon, Vossius, etc., did not disdain to issue editions and enrich them with notes.
