Charles Borde (1711-1781) is a French man of letters, linked to Voltaire he received the latter at the Academy of Lyon in 1754 and they exchanged a long correspondence.
The spirit of Charles Borde's writings are so Voltaireian that for many years, some of his works were wrongly attributed to Voltaire.
Fine copy in contemporary morocco of this anti-religious work, which was banned shortly after its publication. Indeed, the last part of the work ends with an exhortation to Catholics to lament the errors of their fathers.
