Set of three memoirs on Martinique affair. Memoir on the financial scandal that affected Antoine Lavalette, a Jesuit missionary priest in Martinique. To restore the treasury of the Jesuit mission in Martinique, he set up some commercial operations which failed and was heavily indebted to the sieurs Lioncy and Gouffre, merchants from Marseille. They obtained justice from the tribunal of Aix, but the Parliament of Paris took up the case and used it as a pretext to proclaim the banishment of the Society of Jesus from France in 1762.
