First edition. Work which is inspired by Wallis' method of measuring surfaces by the arithmetic of infinities which has the advantage according to Deidier of using simple algebra. Deidier found the algebra of integral calculus too abstract. Deidier's works ensured him a distinguished place among the mathematicians of his time. .
