Ernest Godard (1826-1862) was a doctor, an anthropologist, but also a great traveller, an art collector and a French patron. As a doctor, he is recognized for his research on the teratology of sexual organs and hermaphroditism.
The subject of this book is the congenital absence of one (monorchidia) or both testicles (cryptorchidism) in the scrotum.
