Set of three identically bound volumes grouping together texts about the controversy over the Jesuits which raged during the years 1761 and 1762.
We find in particular:
"Special history of the Jesuits in France" by Abbé Minard is a priest Jansenist of Libourne "Report of the constitutions of the Jesuits" by La Chalotais who is attorney general in the Parliament of Brittany, fiercely opposed to the Jesuits. He proposes here a memoir in charge of the constitutions of the Society of Jesus. "Reply to the apologies of the Jesuits", "The badly defended Jesuit" by Abbé Platel.

The collection was produced by the Abbé Jean-Antoine Gazaignes and consists of five volumes (Last is missing in our copy). It contains information about the founding of the order, its doctrines, its activities, and its various political movements. The Annales are of great importance for understanding the history of the Jesuits and their influence on French society. The Annales have also served as the basis for many historical works and studies on the Jesuits and their role in French history.

The painter uses an extensive palette with sharp contrasts, and does not hesitate to use a bright minium red that he contrasts with the blues and greens in the happiest of ways.
The abstract backgrounds and the systematic use of a grassy ground, give to the whole manuscript a beautiful coherence and a great elegance.

Some of the preserved paintings, such as those of the Annunciation to the Shepherds, the Crucifixion, and St. Margaret, bear witness to the artist's talent and the high quality of this manuscript.

It should be noted that the composition of the The Flight into Egypt is closely mirrors of a Boucicaut composition.

They obtained justice from the tribunal of Aix, but the Parliament of Paris took up the case and used it as a pretext to proclaim the banishment of the Society of Jesus from France in 1762.
